An American Fortune 500 integrated communications company that provides marketing and business communications, commercial printing, and related services had been using Google sheets to collaborate among its global plants. The tracker provided critical information such as details of unbilled jobs, ship dates, bill to's, and outstanding amounts. Additionally, each plant had supporting information in disparate systems that needed to be consolidated to create the inputs for billing. The process was manual, error prone, and time consuming.
Using a combination of RPA and Google APIs, the Intelligent Automation Solutions team at RRD GO Creative™ automated the end-to-end processing of all the trackers. The bot was programmed to run at a predetermined schedule every day and download information pertaining to each plant from all disparate systems. It then used the business rules provided by each plant to create the inputs. The tracker updates were performed using Google APIs and task completion email alerts were sent to relevant recipients.
